Public Ceilidh in Cheddar Village Hall – Saturday 8th June!
We are delighted to be hosting a Public Ceilidh in the lovely surroundings of the Cheddar Village Hall. There will be live music from The Andy McLeod Ceilidh Band, and you are welcome to bring your own drinks and snacks. We are also excited to have the Excellent Fed by Fed and Ben set up outside the Hall selling their tasty pizzas on the night.

The amazing Joyful Spirit Choir, raising money for Christian Aid.

The roots of gospel music influence the joyful and inspirational music we enjoy today. Joyful Spirit sing songs influenced by that heritage from artists such as Abba, Dusty Springfield, Marvin Gaye, Toto, ELO, Earth Wind & Fire.

Cheddar Valley u3a Rock Band

Another Sell out event for Cheddar Valley u3a Rock Band. This was a free event, from our own ‘Vintage Cheddar’ Rock Band with a retiring collection in aid of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance. The popularity of these dances continues to increase with proceeds contributing to local charities.
Our Speaker Meeting on 6th June at 2:00pm in the Village Hall will feature a display of Elizabethan Costumes by Rosemary Griggs. It’ll be well worth a visit!

Winscombe Celebrations for the 80th Anniversary of D-Day Landings

Winscombe will join thousands of communities world wide to mark D-Day 80 with a Beacon Lighting Evening on Thursday, 6th June. At 7:30pm a Documentary short film will be shown in The church Centre, Woodborough Rd, BS25 1BA, followed by:

From 8:45pm The Millennium Green Trust, on The Old Station, Strawberry Line, Winscombe, will be holding tributes and lighting a beacon, joining the nation in celebration. Both events are free and all welcome.

Car Boot Sale For RNLI

Tina Blunsden from Tina’s Cakes is running a Car Boot Sale outside Winscombe Community Centre to coincide with the Market on Saturday 20th April.
All fees from the Car Boot Stalls will go to RNLI Winscombe Branch.
Stalls for Garage & Domestic Items only cost £10 for 3 x 3 space. Set up from 7.30 am, open to the public at 9 am, close at 1 pm.
