Why join the Rodney Stoke & Draycott Womens Institute? We are a friendly group, holding our meetings at Draycott Memorial Hall, on the 1st Thursday every month at 7:30pm. Want to see what it is all about, find out more or make arrangements to attend a meeting?

The next Axbridge Royal British Legion meeting will be on 3rd September at 11:00am in The Lamb Inn, Axbridge. The talk will be by a Commonwealth War Graves Commission representative and entitled “Gardening The World”. Please come along you will always be very welcome.

RAFA-MSB will meet on Monday 2nd September at 11:00am in Wells Golf Club, Blackheath Lane, Wells, BA5 3DS for a presentation by Sister Anne Martin entitled “RAF Brats” and general discussion of Branch business plus Lunch & Drinks from the Club Menu & Bar.

Crook Peak Music Festival. Every Tuesday in September 6:00pm – 7:00pm. Early evening concerts of approx. 50 minutes. Complimentary glass of wine or Badgworth Brewhouse beer on arrival. Retiring collection.

Mini Winscombe ‘Not the Village Show’

Saturday 14th September 12:00pm – 4:00pm. In aid of Winscombe Community Association Winspace New Building Project.

Join us for a Mini ‘Not the Village Show’. Enter the ‘Bake Off’ Competition. Fun games, bar, bottle stall, bbq, refreshments.

Axbridge District Trefoil Guild Autumn Fish and Chip Lunch.
After the summer break the Guild will meet again on 10th September for the Autumn Fish and Chip Lunch. This will be at 1:00pm in the Catholic Church Rooms, Cheddar. Please place orders by the end of August.

Cheddar Vale Lions Club will be holding their annual Duck Races on August Bank Holiday Monday, 26th August. All our regular visitors will be delighted to return plus more to watch the spectacle of 1,000 ducks floating down the river. The cheers were phenomenal last year with the children loving it as always.

On 4th Tuesday each month at the upstairs room Winscombe Club (The Legion), 7 Sandford Road BS25 1HD. Winscombe Folk Club is an acoustic club welcoming music, song, poetry of all kinds from accomplished performers and anyone just starting out.
The next few dates are 27th August, 24th September etc. Doors open 7:30pm and music will start around 8:00pm.

Music for a Summer Evening – Bank Holiday Sunday, 25th August, 7:00pm – 9:00pm. A FREE concert, with retiring collection.

Come and hear the Bristol Brass Consort dectet perform pieces old and new, suitable for a summer evening. This is an informal event with a friendly and fun atmosphere.  You are welcome to bring your own refreshments.

The Weston-super-Mare Macular Society Group covering Weston, Clevedon, Winscombe and surrounding areas meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month 10:30am to 12:30pm at St Peter’s Church Hall, Baytree Road, Weston-super-Mare BS22 8HG. The meetings are for anyone affected by central vision loss AMD wet or dry. Come to share experiences with others.
