Jump feet first into Christmas with the annual St Margaret’s Santa Abseil!
Are you ready for an unforgettable festive adventure? Join us on Sunday, 1st December for a Santa Abseil, where you’ll descend 60 feet down the breathtaking Cheddar Gorge, all in support of St Margaret’s Hospice.
Sponsored by Blackdown Finance, this event is your chance to make this Christmas truly special—whether it’s for the thrill, the views, or the cause. Suit up in your Santa gear, gather your courage, and abseil down one of Somerset’s most iconic locations. After completing the abseil, you’ll be greeted at the bottom with a well-earned medal and a festive mince pie. Whether you’re an adrenaline junkie or just looking for a fun way to raise funds for a great cause, the Santa Abseil is an event for everyone.

Christmas comes to Winscombe!
Winscombe Community Centre is holding its annual Christmas Fair on Saturday 23rd November, from 9:30am until 12:30pm. Come along for easy and varied Christmas shopping, then relaxing with mince pies and coffee.

Cheddar Valley u3a Coffee Mornings ‘PLUS’ 10:00am – 11:30am, Thursday 21st November.
November it’s the Craft Fayre, where unique, artisan Christmas gifts and decorations can be purchased.

The local Weston-super-Mare Macular Society Group covering Weston Clevedon Winscombe meets on the 3rd Wednesday of the month 10:30am to 12:30pm at St Peter’s Church Hall, Baytree Road, Weston-super-Mare BS22 8HG.
The group is for anyone affected by central vision loss, AMD wet or dry. We have presentations on a variety of topics including useful appliances, helpful organisations and local interest such as RNIB and GWR.

Winscombe District U3A. Dr John Heather will give an illustrated talk to explain the role of Pier Health in our local primary health care services.

There was no fair planned for October as the hall was already booked, but the November fair looks like being even better than ever. At Wedmore Village Hall, Cheddar Road on Saturday 16th November, 10:00am – 4:00pm, admission free.

Cheddar Arts’ autumn season concludes on Friday 8th November with Love Sarah starring Shelley Conn, Celia Imrie and Rupert Penry-Jones.
