Axbridge District Rotary Club

The Club has been quite busy of late:

26th October – Axbridge
War Memorial Garden: In preparation for the November Remembrance Service, the Club sourced and purchased plants for the Memorial Garden.  Then on a very sunny Saturday morning a planting session was done by Clubs’ members. Coffee and bacon rolls were then enjoyed while sat in Axbridge Town Square.

The Club would like to thank Banwell Garden Centre for their assistance will this project. It is planned for the Club to revisit and maintain the Garden going forward.

2nd November – Cheddar Foodbank Collection: During November’s Axbridge Town Farmers Market the Club collection donations for a local foodbank.

The results were: We filled 7 crates with tins, cereal boxes, toilet rolls and much more. Total weight 26Kg -Toilet rolls don’t weigh much!

Money donated came to £82.38. So, this is for them to buy more essentials.

Thank you again to all the people who donated food stuffs/supplies or put money in the pot. We will be back again at the pre-Christmas market on Sunday 22nd December for all those last-minute donations. We look forward to seeing you then.
